About Us
POP is spearheaded by founder Brad Beattie.
Brad has over 25 years experience bringing people and ideas together. Most recently, he amplified grassroots voices and facilitated partnerships that quickly became SOGI 1 2 3—a collaborative educational initiative that, in less than three years, scaled from its pilot to include all 60 school districts, first nation schools and independent schools in British Columbia, while beginning to expand nationally. The success of the program hinged on innovative collaboratives between all education partners and stakeholders at the provincial, district and school levels. With these collaboratives as the foundation, SOGI 1 2 3 then grew beyond government education to become a true cross-sector collaboration that also engaged mission-aligned NGOs, corporations, and community stakeholders.
Prior to that, his history includes working with Reconciliation Canada to implement a landmark truth and reconciliation march of 70,000 participants and 1000 volunteers, and working with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association to reimagine internal collaboration models. Additional clients include VANOC 2010, the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Advanced Air Mobility, Digital Climate Coalition, and more.
For Brad, it’s always been clear: great things happen when we play well together. He naturally sees the potential people power trapped in competitive, parallel or siloed relationships. In response, he has developed a sophisticated set of skills for initiating breakthrough conversations and activating existing leaders to co-innovate solutions that transform outdated landscapes for social change.
